Two machines. One converter.
Zero compromises.

DualZone phase converters give you two independent output zones from a single unit — run a CNC mill on Zone 1 and a 5 HP compressor on Zone 2 without one machine's startup ever brownouting the other.

Phoenix DualZone Phase Converter — IP65 control panel with dual output zones
How DualZone works

Twice as efficient with more power output.

Every DualZone is essentially two right-sized phase converters in one cabinet — sharing a single 230V single-phase input but isolated on the three-phase output side.

Zone 1 · Heavy Duty

Run your largest single machine

Sized for the biggest motor in your shop — typically the CNC, the 80-gallon compressor, or the surface grinder.

  • Hard-start capable (CNC, recip compressors)
  • Full balanced three-phase output
  • TEFC cast-iron idler, continuous duty
  • Largest starting motor up to ~50% of zone HP
Zone 2 · Auxiliary

Power the rest of the shop

Smaller motors, lights, dust collectors, control circuits — completely isolated so a startup transient on Zone 1 never affects Zone 2.

  • Independent contactor and output bus
  • Soft-start friendly (lighter loads)
  • Run multiple small motors simultaneously
  • No cross-talk between zones

Built right

Industrial-grade everything.

IP65-rated control panel. Pre-wired Auto-Zone switching logic. Thermal and magnetic overload protection on both zones. Ships pre-assembled — bolt it down, run conduit, turn it on.

  • ✅ IP65 weatherproof control panel
  • ✅ Dual TEFC idler motors, cast-iron frame
  • ✅ AutoLink soft-start system built-in
  • ✅ Pre-wired — installer-friendly
  • ✅ 5-year warranty on motors and panel
Why shops choose DualZone

One converter does the work of two.

True Zone Isolation

Zone 1 startup transients can't brownout Zone 2. Run a CNC and a compressor on the same converter without nuisance trips.

💰

Lower Cost Than Two Units

One cabinet, one disconnect, one install. Typically 25-35% less than buying two right-sized converters separately.

📐

Half the Floor Space

Single floor footprint instead of two. Critical when shop space is tight or you're running on a single feed.

🛡️

Lifetime-Class Warranty

5-year warranty on motors and panel. We've been making rotary converters in Phoenix since 2003 — we stand behind every unit.

FAQ

Common DualZone questions.

Can I run both zones at the same time?

Yes — that's the whole point. Each zone has its own contactor and output bus. You can run the CNC on Zone 1 and the compressor on Zone 2 simultaneously without one's startup affecting the other.

Do I need two single-phase feeds?

No. DualZone takes a single 230V single-phase input and produces two independent three-phase outputs. One disconnect, one feeder, one install.

What's the largest motor I can start on Zone 1?

Roughly 50% of Zone 1's nameplate HP for hard-start loads (CNC, recip compressors). For soft-start or VFD-driven motors, you can go higher. Call us at 800-417-6568 with your motor list and we'll size it free.

Can DualZone handle a CNC with a 30 HP spindle?

Absolutely — the GP30/60NL or GP40/80NL is sized exactly for that. CNC spindles are hard-start loads, so we recommend Zone 1 at ≥2× the spindle motor HP.

Is it more efficient than two separate converters?

Yes, in two ways: shared idler-motor balancing reduces no-load draw, and a single shared cabinet eliminates duplicate panels, breakers, and conduit runs. Most shops save 25-35% on total install cost.

How long does shipping take?

DualZone units ship from one of three warehouses. Most orders ship within 2-5 business days; freight transit is typically 3-7 days depending on destination. Expedited freight available — ask when you order.
